We are about 10 minutes away from taking out the last bag of trash, and locking the door for the final time.
Although I have a few weeks left, leaving our Proto-Coop is the beginning of the end of my time in Israel.
This is the apartment where I started my marriage in earnest, celebrated two anniversaries and two Christmases, contemplated the meaning of god and humanity, was occasionally horrified, got fuming angry, grieved, was blissfully happy, and laughed so hard I had tears running down my face innumerable times.
And as I grab my backpacks brimming with the odds and ends we left to pack to the last minute and head out the door, my heart is breaking just a little bit.
