You know what I hate? Cheaters.
Today I realized that there are two papers, in two journals, with identical images. It was the photoluminescence that I first noticed. Then I realized that some the TEMs were the same too. And the XRD. I added a few pics for your judgment.
So what are those images really of? I cannot trust anything in either of those papers now. We have all published results that are extensions of previous results, but that should be a mention with a reference, not a re-publication of data and images. As far as I can tell, there is not reference from one paper to the other. Fishy.
I hope you got tenure, or what ever it was that you were going for. This probably will catch up to you one day.

send it to the editor! another blog found another striking "similarity" in two papers, and it actually got retracted:

Who are the papers from? Just so we stop trusting them as well. Julie had the same happen form a paper of their lab, excpet 90% of the paper was plagiarized!
'Part from that, how's life?
That's weak! You should send a letter to the editors of the journal...or write your own paper using those results :)
